Transactional Nightmare
everything that's wrong with the IDEA of . . . "the Great Deal Maker"

in America, we live in a rock ‘em sock ‘em world where there are (supposedly) CLEAR winners and losers and where the wins are vicariously experienced by people with zero actual connection
and the losses are suppressed until the inability to hide the suppression floods the backyard
let me explain: day traders, quick deals (and dealers), short-term turn-arounds . . . all examples of people looking for a supercharged, 888 horsepower Chutes and Ladders rocket ship to INSTANT wealth
all based on show and tell, bait and switch . . . but there’s really not much to tell (at least not truthfully) — stories of get rich schemes leading to a few bong hits of luxury followed, for too many, by a long-term debt “hangover”, the boom / bust cycle of American economic history
long-term planning, investing in sustainable futures, with relatively consistent incremental gains . . . solid footing as opposed to flamboyant excess
these are not part of the quarterly profit-driven cognitive framework of the nightmare we erroneously have labeled “the American Dream”
thinking only in terms of quick fixes, instant riches, the FOMO mind set
has led us, once more, down the bunny trail to financial Hell
